Be Informed!

According to Nemours, "Drugs are chemicals or substances that change the way our bodies work. Some are medicines that help people when doctors prescribe them. In the brain, drugs may intensify or dull the senses, change how alert or sleepy people feel, and sometimes decrease physical pain. Smoking, drinking, and doing drugs can lead to problems at home, in school, and with your health."

Clearing the Air: Empowering Teens to Break Free from Vaping

What is vaping?

Vapes are battery-operated devices that are used to inhale an aerosol, typically containing nicotine, flavorings, and other

harmful chemicals. They can vary in appearance, resembling traditional tobacco cigarettes, pipes, or even everyday items such as writing utensils or USB drives. Regardless of their design and appearance, these devices generally operate in a similar manner and are made of similar components. More than 460 different

vape brands are currently on the market with 7700 flavors.

We provide resources, information, and support to our neighbors (individuals and organizations) in Dixie County!
Drug Free Dixie

Dixie County Anti-Drug Coalition

The Dixie County Anti-Drug Coalition is a non-profit organization that strives to promote a Drug Free Dixie County. We are dedicated to providing programs for our youth in order to encourage them to live a healthy drug free lifestyle. We also offer a more realistic and graphic approach by making aware the harsh realities of drug use and the many faces of drugs that parents may not be aware of. We are always open to suggestions and concerns. Volunteers are always welcome.

Who We Are & What We Do

Who We Are
Our Team
Our Services

History and Background

Formed in 2011, by community leaders concerned about youth drug use, The Dixie County Anti-Drug Coalition has grown to an organization that now serves ALL Dixie county residents (both youth and adults). We provide resources, information, and support to our neighbors (individuals and organizations) in Dixie County

Our Vision

Dixie County will be a healthy and safe place to work, live, and play.

Our Mission

Promote and develop a more positive and safe environment for the Dixie County youth, as well as young adults and adults, by educating on the dangers of alcohol and other drugs and by uniting people and services to assist in the prevention effort.

What is Prevention?

Effective substance use prevention requires a public health approach. We rely on strategies built around the Strategic Prevention Framework (SPF) Model. The Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America (CADCA) is a great resource to learn more about prevention. Some of their resources include Primers that detail each step of the SPF process, webinars, and other training resources. The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is another excellent resource!
